Hotels and Restaurants
On our trip we worked as a team in planning out the day’s events and the distance we would drive.
Using the Road Atlas we would highlight the route that would take us to the park we chose to visit.
As I drove my wife would be the navigator, she kept us on the correct path. In the evening we would plan out our next day’s adventure, again using our atlas to highlight our route and keep the navigator alert.
We chose our favorite hotel chain to take advantage of the points (for the free nights!) throughout our trip. This of course did not stop us from staying with family and friends.
Some Helpful tips:
- Take advantage of the Hotel breakfasts and be sure to take along some yogurts and fresh fruits for those long drives.
- Check with the Hotel clerks for the best restaurant in town, (the one the locals go to) make sure to ask if you need reservations.
- If you have not gone to a National Park, at the first park you go to make sure you sign up for the Lifetime Pass for U.S. Citizens 62 and older.
